Syllabus | Sociology 3325 - Enhance the student's basic understanding of society as it relates to deviant behavior.
- Help the student appreciate that deviant behavior is to a large extent a product of our social structure.
- Help the student understand man's place, as an individual, in relation to the global magnitude of deviance.
- Encourage the student to discover the problematic character of trying to enforce control over deviant behavior.
- Realize the many social implications of deviant behavior as a label imposed by those in power.
- Learn to see deviance as a natural process in the evolution of human society.
