This course is designed to develop an operational understanding of the term “entrepreneurship”, understand the risk factors of starting a new business enterprise, understand the importance of planning and goal setting for a new business, understand the three components of a business plan, identify resources available for entrepreneurs, recognize that regardless of business size and scope, all new businesses should be thoroughly planned, recognize the value of customer service to the success of a new business establishment, know the primary reasons for business failure, understand the difference types of business ownership and the advantages and disadvantages of each, learn the characteristics of successful business enterprises, understand the value of monitoring the operation of the business, learn the career opportunities available through entrepreneurship.
