Admission Requirements

To apply for admission to Texas State University, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Submit your application for admission, official transcripts from each institution, and/or high school diploma prior to the deadline identified in the catalog.

Students can transfer up to 66 semester hours from community colleges. An overall GPA of 2.25 is required for admission.

Admission Checklist for Occupational Education Program:

  • Attend an information session in San Marcos, Round Rock, or in the San Antonio area you can contact Melvin Weathersby (mw12@txstate.edu) or Betty Harkins (bh11@txstate.edu).
  • Apply to the University and receive your letter of acceptance and evaluated transcript.
  • Attend a Degree Audit session in Round Rock, or if in the San Antonio area or San Marcos area schedule an appointment with one of our advisors by calling 512/245-2115 (San Marcos), 210/645-1707 (Southwest and West San Antonio) or 210/659-0954 (Northeast and Central San Antonio).
  • Individuals who decide to pursue the BAAS degree must have attended an Information Session and Degree Audit Session.  Upon completion of these two sessions a New Student Information Sheet and Degree Audit is sent to the main office in San Marcos to have the Degree Audit updated.  This is required in order to obtain approval to register for OCED 4350.
  • Register for OCED 4350.  An overall transfer GPA of 2.25 is required.  If you have completed courses at the university a Texas State GPA of 2.25 is required.
