About OCED 4350

The first course that you should enroll in toward your BAAS degree is Occupational Assessment - OCED 4350.

This course allows you to document work competencies you have acquired over the years and plan for your degree, your career, and your future. Documentation is accomplished through creation of a portfolio that is submitted at the conclusion of the course.

Work life credit up to 24 semester hours may be awarded for the competencies you have acquired. You may also document non-collegiate or training credit in the course.

This is a demanding course. If you are employed full time, it is wise to enroll only in this course the first semester. However, if your scholarship, financial aid or VA require you to take more than one course, you should be careful in selecting other courses you enroll in during that semester.

You have the option of taking the course as an on-line class, by video tape, or lecture classes. The course schedule will indicate which method is used for instruction in each section.

Students taking the course must have good computer skills since this is a writing-intensive course. If you have questions on the course, e-mail Occupational Education.
